Col.
Don Steinke -
Omaha
A graduate of ???? Auction school. Not sure where he graduated from (If he ever
did). All I know is that he used to
teach at an auction school. It was called
the Omaha Auction
School in Omaha Nebraska. Mike used to work for Dons
wife
(Dee) at the Omaha Auto Auctions Kitchen when Mike
was 15 years old. As time
went on Mike and Don worked
many, many auctions together at the Omaha Auto
Auction.
Don used to fly around in his privately rented airplane to
sell cars in
the Midwest at auction. Don has been a part of
Mikes life for over 25 years
(Many of those years with Don
tormenting Mike... ha,ha). I (Mike Bunach) feel
very proud to be able to provide
such an experienced and honest auctioneer to my
customers. If I had to ever pay
Don for what he was worth.... I would Owe money
after ever auction. He truly is
one-in-a-million!!!! I (Mike Bunach) am pleased
to have a professional guy like
Don able to help out with our auction
responsibilities. I (Mike Bunach) truly do want
the very best for our sellers
and a wonderful experience for our buyers. I take my
job to heart am and glad to
have a fellow auctioneer by my side who feels the same
. Don is "Old School"....
And that is what we love about him! "Old School" being that
yes is yes. no is
no. right is right and wrong is wrong. If you want to play games and
be treated
like "Just a number (Bidders number)" than Don is not the guy. Come
by sometime
just to see an old Col in action! |

Cashier/Clerk
Carie Bunach
Carie Bunach , is Col. Mike's
wife. She is a wonderful
example for the Bunach's four daughters. Carie Bunach aids
the Auction Company with her
cashiering and clerking
experience. She has helped in numerous ways to ensure
successful and profitable auctions. In the future Carie
Bunach may be attending Auction
College to help with the
bid calling responsibilities...Neat Huh?

Betty
Bunach, Cashier:
Apart from being
Mikes Mom Betty helps
the company by registering
customers and helping with cashiering
responsibilities.
She also keeps a watchful eye to make sure that Mike stays
out
of trouble. It is always a joy to have her around. We feel
that having our
family together at Bunach Auctioneering Co.
lends to the friendly and family
environment that people have
come to expect from Bunach Auctioneering Company.
If
Mike does something you do not like please don't tell his
Mom (He just got
ungrounded after 30 years). Mom has
proven to be an asset to the
company. Her willingness to
help out at any time have proven not only to be
helpful... but necessary.. Sometimes
I (Mike Bunach) wonder how I ever could
have gotten such a wonderful Mom!
Thanks Mom (I love you!!!) |
Mary Ann "Mert" Jordan- Does the name
sound familiar? Well it should. We have pulled out the
punches! Joining us from
Millard U.S.A. is Leonard's sister,
Betty's sister-in-law and Mikes aunt. She
will help you
register and take all the money you want to spend. A warm
smile
and fun to be around she is not a new member to this
family. She has been
around since Mike was counting the
toys in his Crib. A helpful hand and a
genuine smile sums
up her contributions. She has proven herself to be as
necessary at our auctions as a sound system!

Ringpersons
(bid spotters)
The Ringpersons and
back up auctioneers that Bunach Auctioneering
Company employs are Quality
people that assist with upcoming Auctions. The
size
of the Auction will dictate the number of support personnel that are needed.
Bunach Auctioneering Company contracts with experienced and professional
people.
Most of whom have their own Auction business.

Leonard Bunach, Ringman:
Leonard has
worked at the
Omaha Auto Auction since they had their first
auction in 1958. He has served
many functions for the Auto
Auction including Operation Manager (11 years). You
can
still find both Leonard and Mike at the Car Auction each
Thursday. We are
very happy to have him around. Dad has
always been a friend..... His advice is
always encouraging.
And... He keeps Me (Mike) out of trouble sometimes.
Especially when I (Mike) think that my jokes are funny. He is
the quiet one of
the group (except for some ocassional
yipping). Always a source of
encouragement! He knew Don Steinke when Don
was teething on an auction gavel. His experience,
encouragement and support are
always welcome! |
Monica Bunach, Clerk: ... If you can not find talented help...
Breed them!
Monica is Carie & Mikes oldest daughter (And... We are Damn
proud!!!). Not only
is she smart... but she can keep up with her
Dad and other fellow auctioneers while
bid calling. She does a fabulous job
of recording the auction sales. It sometimes is
hard for Mike to admit it
(especially after years of clerking himself). But, Monica
does a wonderful
job that even Mike isn't sure he could handle. She can keep up
with multiple
lots and over 100 items per hour being sold (sometimes Mike can sell
120
items per hour). Monica is a Great student and a talented athlete even
though
she is getting older....Monica has a way of remaining just as sweet
as she ever was
(Don't tell her that... she might knock your block off!).
Please remember!!! At the
auction... Leave the clerk alone.... She has a
hard enough time doing her job
without having to remind you of what you paid
for an item (Write it down... or the
cashiers will happily let you know at
the end of the sale). I would say more about
her...But then her head may
swell, or worse yet... She would expect to get paid
more!
Alicia Bunach, Concessions (on-site): ...
If you can not win the Bid.... You
can always find a snack at the "EATS"
area of the auction house. We offer tasty
hot dogs, Polish dogs, chips,
candy and drinks for your enjoyment (SMALL
PURCHASE PRICE REQUIRED).
Occasionally we offer chili, pizza and
hamburgers. Alicia will take care of
that stomach rumbling and get you re-loaded
and ready to bid!

Veronica & Rebecca Bunach:
The two
smallest kids in the Bunch.
They help their Dad set up and get the shop
clean and organized for the customers
comfort. On sale day they help take
the items to the high bidders. They are also
known to help customers carry
their purchases to their vehicles (at the curb). They
are quite helpful and
cheaper to pay than help incorporated. Two great kids with a
crazy auction
Mom & Dad. Hopefully they will take over some day and let Mike &
Carie count
sheep in some exotic location. They are always excited when someone
gives
them a dollar or two (sometimes more) for helping to carry out their items
won. Sometimes Mike feels like they make better money than he does (Maybe
because they are on heck of a lot cuter than he is). |
